PA ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria Borough Council approves three capital projects at May meeting. Council President Judy Scott and Vice President Mike Peters voted unanimously to accept a bid from John Claar Excavating for a DCED-funded stormwater drainage project that drew six proposals; designate the Borough parking lot as the location for an Eagle Scout replica of the John Hart Log, a red oak structure 9 feet long and 2.5 feet wide; and authorize EADS Group to investigate prefabricated 30-by-30-foot pavilion options for construction bidding. The Fire Department requested council consideration of a 1-mill tax to generate approximately $140,000 annually for long-term vehicle replacement, estimated at over $500,000, with council expressing support.
